| Union seeks prison chief's resignation |

NEVADA - Nevada correctional officers affiliated with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Union Local 4041 today asked Corrections Department Director Howard Skolnik to resign, citing risk to officers due to poor management by some of his administrators. “We are here to tell you today that it is our belief that NDOC is in need for a complete shake-up of their administrative staff,” said the announcement from union officials. “Under the direction of Director Skolnik and other administrators, a majority of NDOC employee’s morale is at an all-time low. “Director Skolnik’s unwillingness to take action against his administrators has continued to cause deterioration of correctional officers’ morale and operational efficiencies throughout NDOC institutions,” the union said.
