| State looks to hire hundreds in first-ever job fair |

INDIANAPOLIS - Twenty-five state departments will accept applications and conduct on the spot interviews Wednesday. The state is one of the largest employers with 31,000 people, and now, it needs hundreds of more Hoosiers with a variety of skills. Many positions are also open in public safety. The Department of Corrections alone has over 400 vacancies to fill including 200 correctional officers. Positions also range from case work managers, counselors, chaplains, and administrative assistants. The DOC is also unique that it mentors its employees and offers tuition assistance.
