TEXAS - The bargain-basement Hot Bottoms brand jeans belonged to a woman who got six months for shoplifting at a Houston mall. The pricier Coogi jeans with the colorful embroidery belonged to a guy with a bad temper, a drug habit and a gun. And there is no telling who owned the form-fitting men's undershorts with well-rounded padding sewn on each buttock. Regardless of their sordid past, clothes forfeited by Harris County Jail inmates heading to state prison get a new lease on life thanks to a program in which the county donates street clothes to help recovering homeless people get back on their feet.
