ALABAMA - When a criminal suspect with a long rap sheet is booked into Pittsburgh's Allegheny County Jail, his former crimes will be held against him. A scoring system will rate his priors and likely boost his bail. Not in Mobile County, where most inmates can check out of Metro Jail within a few hours on pre-approved bail amounts. In those cases, a corrections officer simply matches the crime with a bail schedule before a suspect can post bond.
