| Jail deputy gets life saver award |

FLORIDA - The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office presented a "Life Saver Award" to a jail deputy who saved an inmate's life. Charlotte County Sheriff John Davenport presented the "Life Saver Award" Tuesday to Corrections Deputy First Class Juana Ireland for saving an inmate's life in the jail back in August. According to Sheriff Davenport, CDFC Ireland noticed a disturbance in a holding cell and saw a female inmate hunched over holding her throat with both hands.
