| County gives officers a raise |

MONTANA - A new four-year contract with corrections officers at the Cascade County Regional jail includes hourly pay increases of $3 an hour for a beginning worker. "I can't pay people enough for the job they do," Sheriff Dave Castle said. Cascade County commissioners approved the contract Tuesday. The pay increases will cost the county $400,000 in fiscal year 2009, which was anticipated, Commissioner Joe Briggs said. "That's not a change to the budget." Read more.
