MASSACHUSETTS - Francis G. Janosko, 42, a convicted sex offender held at the Plymouth County Correctional Facility in Massachusetts, accessed computers on the local network inside the jail and made off with the personal information of over 1,100 jail employees. Janosko gained access to the names, addresses, phone numbers, birth dates, and work history for both current and past jail employees. He was able to access this information from a flaw in the legal research software made available to inmates. Once he had the information, he shared it with other inmates, and setup access for them to access other forbidden applications on the network. According to an indictment, Janosko is a Level 3 sex offender who has a pending charge of child pornography against him. Adding to these pending charges, according to GateHouse News Service, is one count each of aggravated identity theft and intentional damage to a protected computer. Read more.
