| Jail site foes ask to serve on panel |

MISSISSIPPI - Members of a grassroots group opposed to Jackson County's proposed location for a new jail said Monday they'd like to serve with a citizen advisory committee to find solutions. The Citizens to Relocate the Jail group is ready to "think outside the box," representative Jon Reynolds told the county Board of Supervisors. "We know there's problems," Reynolds said, citing the jail location and options to pay for it, and the judicial system in general. "We would love to sit down with each of you individually. Let's educate each other." A $22 million bond issue to finance the new jail failed to win the required 60 percent support of local voters on Nov. 4. Read more.
