COLORADO - BI, a provider of location monitoring technology and treatment services for community corrections agencies, appointed Bruce Thacher to be the company’s president and CEO. He replaces George B. DeHuff. Thacher is the third president of BI. Previously, he was BI’s executive vice president and chief operating officer. “Bruce has the skills and the drive to take the company to a new level of success in terms of product development services…he has been integral to the rapid growth of BI during this decade and he will bring his own brand of leadership for enhancing our products and services that enhance community safety,” says DeHuff. During DeHuff’s time, BI expanded into many new directions and increased revenues. It was founded in 1978, and was then known as a company that pioneered electronic monitoring for house arrest. Today, BI has more than 1,000 available products for electronic monitoring in the corrections industry. Additionally, BI has been chosen by the Colorado Department of Corrections along with local counties to activate a reporting center for prisoners returning to their community or those who violate their probation or parole. Prior to joining BI, Thacher was the president and COO for Westec Interactive Security, president and COO of Westec Security Inc., and vice president of support service and CFO for Secomerica, a company involved in security, emergency medical services and home infusion therapy. “While George is stepping down from the day-to-day operations of BI, the vision and values he implemented will be carried forward,” says Thacher. “I have worked with George for almost two decades, so I have tremendous respect for him and his accomplishments.” |
