MONTANA - he Two Rivers Detention Center in Hardin has failed to provide adequate information during a proposal process, which has taken it out of the running for a $2.7 million dollar state correctional facility. Last month, the Montana Department of Corrections (DOC) asked for more information on proposals to maintain START, the program that provides an option other than prison for offenders who violate conditions of community placements. Bob Anez, DOC Communications Director, explained, "Specifically we were concerned about the financial stability of the organization down in Hardin; we asked for additional information on that. We asked for additional information on how it arrived at its price per day that they were going to charge and how it would staff up to be open within 60 days." Read more.
