| Council supports Law and Justice Center |

ILLINOIS - The Pontiac City Council unofficially went on record Wednesday as favoring the proposed Law & Justice Center and related proposals for downtown, and is expected at Monday’s meeting to approve a letter of intent outlining what the city will do and what Livingston County will do to make the proposal a reality. Meeting for just over an hour as a committee of the whole, the eight aldermen who were able to be at the work session reviewed the proposal, which was made public at a joint news conference Friday afternoon. They also reviewed a letter of intent, which outlines the responsibilities of the city and of the county for the development. Because it was a committee meeting, the council could not vote on the letter, but when Mayor Scott McCoy polled each alderman about the proposal and the letter of intent, each favored them, with the consensus that the plan was an excellent one and the terms of the letter of intent reasonable.
