NEW YORK - Police charged a Long Island corrections officer with driving while intoxicated following a fatal crash in Uniondale. Junior Jordan, age 45, of Uniondale, was charged with manslaughter and DWI stemming from the accident which killed Maria Belan, 61, also of Uniondale, police said. The accident occurred near the intersection of Uniondale Avenue and Waverly Place in Uniondale at a about 5:40 a.m. Thursday, police said. Read more.
