Facility receives health care accreditation

NEW YORK - The Orange County Jail has received accreditation from the National Commission on Correctional Health Care. The organization is dedicated to improving the quality of correctional health care services, assists correctional facilities provide effective and efficient care and sets standards for the proper management of a correctional health care delivery system.

Facilities that seek accreditation must meet or surpass these rigorous standards of operations. These standards help correctional facilities improve the health of their inmates by increasing the efficiency of their health services delivery, strengthen their organizational effectiveness, reduce their risk of adverse patient outcomes and enhance the overall health of the communities to which they return.
