ALABAMA - Randy Christian with the Jefferson County Sheriffs Office tells MyFoxAL.com that a juvenile from Birmingham has been arrested on extortion charges. Christian says the 16-year-old sent 11 extortion letters that wanted money or harm would come to the recipients or their families. One letter went to the President of the Jefferson County Commission, Bettye Fine Collins, for the amount of $40,000. The amounts in the letters ranged from $20,000 to $3 million. Read more.
