| New county jail gets thumbs-up |

PENNSYLVANIA - The new Wayne County jail in Texas Township got a nod of approval from the state. Ed Pfister, of the state Department of Corrections, presented a 100-percent compliance certificate, for 2008, to the jail’s staff and read a congratulatory letter from state corrections secretary Jeffrey Beard at the county commissioner’s Thursday meeting. State inspectors toured the jail in September, checking its sanitation, security, admission capacity, and the cells along with prisoner treatment, hygiene, and recreation opportunities.
