| Event helps late CO's family |

PENNSYLVANIA - “Terror Behind Bars” at the former Franklin County Prison scared more than 5,000 people this Halloween season while at the same time raising thousands of dollars for the family of a corrections officer killed last year in a car crash. On Thursday, volunteers from the new Franklin County Jail and others who helped stage the event presented a check for $15,000 to Wally Reed, whose daughter, Stacey Reed, was killed in a crash on the way home from work in November 2007. “I’d like to thank everyone who put forth the effort” to raise the money, Reed said during the presentation in the County Commissioners office. That will be combined with more than $5,000 already raised by officers and employees at the jail to establish a trust fund for Reed’s three children, corrections officer Bob Fink said. Read more.
