OHIO - It's possible that Hamilton County corrections officers who might lose their jobs could find new employment with the City of Cincinnati. That was the suggestion of four members of Cincinnati city council on Monday. Hamilton County Sheriff Simon Leis may lay off 87 corrections officers to balance his budget. City council members Jeff Berding, Chris Bortz, Laketa Cole and Leslie Ghiz suggest that they be given preference in hiring for the Cincinnati police department instead of spending money on a new recruit class.Read more.
