| Union OKs random drug testing |

WASHINGTON - Yakima County corrections officers agreed to random drug testing in a new three-year contract approved this morning by the county commissioners. The agreement, which also includes a wage increase, provides for support and treatment for officers testing positive. And it includes sanctions and termination for repeat offenders. Corrections officers “realize they have a higher expectation from the public in regard to their conduct and in regard to their accountability,” county Human Resources Director Linda Dixon said.
