| Georgia DOC cuts chaplain jobs |

GEORGIA - The state Department of Corrections announced Wednesday it is cutting 30 part time prison chaplains to meet Governor Sony Perdue’s six percent budget reduction mandate. The Department is setting up nine Faith-Based Advisory Zones, including one in Gainesville to help inmates re-enter the community; the others are located in Atlanta, Rome, Macon, Columbus, Albany, Valdosta, Savannah, and Augusta.
