PENNSYLVANIA - Binding arbitration has resulted in a new four-year contract for officers at the Monroe County Correctional Facility, nearly a year after the old contract expired. The county commissioners gave final approval last week to the contract, retroactive to the expiration of the old contract last Jan. 1. It has a five-tier wage scale, depending on length of time worked at the Snydersville jail. Corrections officers with more than five years of service will receive 5 percent raises for 2008, 4 percent in 2009, 4.25 percent in 2010, and 4.75 percent in 2011. Their hourly pay will rise from $16.90 this year to $19.20 in the fourth year. Read more. If link has expired, check the website of the article's original news source. |
