| Plans near completion for Alcorn jail |

MISSISSIPPI - Alcorn County's jail design should be ready to go to electrical and mechanical engineers before the holidays, consultant Irb Benjamin reported to the county supervisors Monday. A few changes for departments that will occupy the justice center portion of the facility will be inserted and sent back to the county for review by the end of the week. "We're trying to get as many of the changes inserted as possible before the final design plan," he said. "You don't want changes late that change the footprint of the building or require electrical or mechanical work. That's when you start adding to the cost." Read more.
