MISSISSIPPI - The George County Board of Supervisors approved a bond sale for $2.36 million on Tuesday to build a 96-bed jail expansion. The supervisors approved a bid from Duncan and Williams Inc. of Memphis, Tenn., to pay a 4.54 percent rate on the 20-year bond. The other bid came from FTN Capital with an interest rate of 4.96 percent. Lynn Norris, a financial adviser with Government Consultants Inc. of Jackson, said a 5.25 percent interest rate had been forecast on the project.
