| Youth center escape investigated |

ILLINOIS - The Illinois Youth Center is at the crux of an internal investigation after two juveniles escaped the St. Charles facility this weekend. Sometime late Saturday night, two male juveniles were able to escape the medium-security youth center located at 4450 Lincoln Highway in St. Charles. The duo was apprehended Monday afternoon in downtown Chicago, according to Illinois Department of Corrections spokeswoman Januari Smith. Because the escapees are juveniles, Smith would not release their names, ages, hometowns or reason for incarceration. Smith would also not elaborate on the escape or apprehension because of the pending investigation, but did say the pair was taken into custody without incident. Read more.
