| Group honors state legislator for support |

ALABAMA - A worsening economy has hit many industries, including that of corrections, an industry that provides many jobs in Elmore County. But Elmore County's corrections employees feel they have a friend at the state level, as State Rep. Barry Mask was recently nominated as Legislator of the Year by the Alabama Correctional Organization (ACO). Mask's district includes parts of Deatsville and Coosada. ACO is a professional organization consisting of correctional industry employees. It's mission is to strengthen the professionalism of corrections personnel. Mantra Governmental is the lobbying firm that represents ACO and according to its president, Jarrod Massey, Mask was an easy choice for the award. "Officers of the group came together and deemed Mr. Mask as duly qualified to be Legislator of the Year," said Massey. "He's been by far the most involved."
