| Corrections official to lead data center |

OREGON - John Koreski will move from the Department of Corrections to head the State Data Center. He replaces Julie Bozzi, who has served as its interim administrator since Nov. 10, after the resignation of Mark Reyer. Reyer had headed it since 2005, when the state merged the data operations of 12 agencies in a new building on Airport Road SE in Salem. The Department of Education later dropped out because of federal restrictions. The State Data Center was the target of two critical audits in September 2006, and again on July 16, about failing to meet projected reductions in the number of employees involved in data operations. But the Department of Administrative Services defended the center, saying that the audit did not take into account some of the measures taken to resolve problems. Read more.
