OHIO - Both the Lebanon Correctional Institution and Warren Correctional Institution are without water following a water main break at LCI. LCI spokeswoman Ellen Myers said the water main break occurred in the prison's farm area at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, along Ohio 63. She said maintenance staff is working "round the clock" to fix the break but no time-line is set for when the water will return. The break has also affected supply to the Ohio Department of Transportation District 8 offices on Ohio 741 and the Community Corrections Center on Ohio 63. Myers said that for now, portable toilets have been brought in for both inmates and staff and water has been delivered to run in the boilers that heat the prison. Myers said drinking water is available for inmates and staff. Myers said LCI pumps its own water from well fields located on its grounds. It also stores the water in a tower of the grounds. |
