| Angola officers arrested |

West Feliciana Parish (La.) sheriff's deputies have arrested two security officers at the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola as part of a probe into alleged improper conduct with inmates. Booked with malfeasance in office are 32-year-old Tammie Davis of Woodville, Mississippi, and 32-year-old Chico Cain of Clinton. Corporal Ronald Welch says the women are accused of having inappropriate relationships with inmates. The alleged relationships include corresponding with the prisoners by mail and sending things of value to them using false names. Warden Burl Cain, who is not related to the arrested officer, says investigators received tips that security officers were having sex with inmates and that some officers had the names of inmates tattooed on their bodies. The warden says as many as 15 of his officers are being investigated as part of the continuing probe. |
