KENTUCKY - Lawmakers have given initial approval to legislation aimed at preventing sex offenders from stalking children online. The House Judiciary Committee gave the measure a thumbs up on Wednesday and sent it to the full House for consideration. The measure would require registered sex offenders to tell law enforcement authorities their e-mail addresses just as they're required to provide their physical addresses. It also prohibits sex offenders from using social-networking Web sites like MySpace and Facebook. Attorney General Jack Conway said the bill is intended to bring Kentucky's laws up to date with changes in technology. |
