Inmates head butting guards and knife fights are just some of the violence captured on surveillance tape in Minnesota prisons. The Department of Corrections showed footage to the Senate Budget Committee to emphasize the danger of cutting any more funding. "I felt that people needed to know first hand the dangerous situations our people are put in," said Minnesota Corrections Commissioner Joan Fabian. Because the Minnesota corrections commissioner is traveling Friday, we sat in on her WCCO Radio interview with WCCO anchor Esme Murphy. Joan Fabian talked about the prison violence captured on tape which she says happens daily. "Just in 2008, we had over 2,000 -- about 6 a day -- 2,000 discipline convictions," said Fabian.
