| Corrections Officer Charged with Murder |

A New York State corrections officer is in custody and charged with murder in connection with the death of a Genesee County man Monday night. Scott Doll, 46, of Corfu, was charged with second degree murder in the death of 66 year old Joseph Benaquist of Pembroke. Doll worked for the State Department of Correctional Services since 1984, most recently at the Wende Correctional facility. Benaquist was also a state corrections officer for 17 years. Genesee County Sheriff Gary Maha says there was more to the men's relationship. "They were acquaintances; they were in some type of an auto dealership business together," Maha said. The sheriff says around 8:45 p.m. Monday night, they received a report of a man dressed in camouflage walking down the street carrying a car jack, lug wrench and large screwdriver. Read more.
