McAlester- OK A Department of Corrections inmate slipped away from the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center on Tuesday after spending only a week at the minimum-security prison. Inmate Richard L. Wilson, 27, of Kay County, was first noticed missing at the 12:30 p.m. count, said Dep. Warden Rick Moham. He had last been accounted for at the 8:30 count on Tuesday morning. Wilson was serving a 14-year sentence, with five years suspended, on a 2006 Kay County conviction of larceny of an auto, according to Moham. Moham said Wilson had several other convictions, including one for car theft, but had no convictions for violent crimes. Wilson had arrived at JBCC on Feb. 10. On Tuesday afternoon, tracking dogs and the DOC’s Correctional Emergency Response Team were fanning out around the McAlester area, searching for Wilson.
