Four Greek prison guards and a pilot have appeared in court in Athens on charges of complicity in an escape by two high-profile prisoners by helicopter at the weekend. Police forensic experts investigate a helicopter used in the escape of convicts Vassilis Paleokostas and Alket Rizaj from Athens' high-security Korydallos prison, at a clearing north of Athens, Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009 The pilot says he was forced at gunpoint to fly to the prison Bank robber Vassilis Paleokostas and Albanian contract killer Alket Rizaj had escaped from the same prison using the same method 20 months earlier. Eight guards have been suspended and the Justice Minister has fired the jail's director and the national prisons inspector. One man who knows what it is like to be involved in a jail break is David McMillen, a convicted drugs trafficker. In 1996 he escaped from a high security prison in Bangkok.
