| Department veteran named chief probation officer |

San Bernardino, CA - Michelle Scray, who has spent 23 years in the San Bernardino County Probation Department, has been appointed chief probation officer. Scray succeeds Jerry Harper, who retired Jan. 6. She is scheduled to be sworn in at 10 a.m. March 3 at a meeting of the county Board of Supervisors. Before her appointment, Scray was Harper's second in command. Prior to that assignment, Scray worked as the deputy chief probation officer in charge of the Community Corrections and Detention Corrections bureaus, which are respectively responsible for the county's Juvenile Hall facilities and supervision of adult probationers.
