The charge arose from an attack on a corrections officer in the Chautauqua County Jail on October 9, 2007. "This was a case that we were not willing to compromise on,” said Foley. “The corrections officers in the County Jail have a very difficult job and the message needs to be sent that we will not tolerate inmates committing acts of violence against them.
