Man charged with biting CO

A Red Lion man who bit one York County Corrections Officer and spit on another has pleaded guilty. Christopher Earl Osborn, 25, pleaded guilty in York County Court Monday to aggravated harassment by a prisoner. In exchange for his plea, charges of aggravated assault and simple assault were dismissed, according to court records. Pursuant to a plea agreement, Common Pleas Judge Gregory M. Snyder sentenced Osborn to a time-served sentence and ordered that he be paroled into a mental-health facility, records state. State police said Osborn bit Corrections Officer Steven Crowe in the upper right thigh, then spit in the face of Corrections Officer Edward Houck on Feb. 12, 2008. According to state police, Osborn had refused to go back into his cell and sat on the floor against the outer wall of his cell. As Crowe approached him, Osborn lunged at the officer and bit him, police said. Crowe and Houck then tried to restrain Osborn, which is when the inmate spit in Houck's face, police said.
