CA - A state prison guard suffered a bruise to the head and a dislocated shoulder after trying to break up a fight between inmates at a Southern California prison. The male officer was slammed to the ground by one of the inmates as he was trying to break up the fight at the California Institution for Men about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Terry Thornton, spokeswoman for the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, declined to give the names of the guard or the prisoners involved.
