The second of two inmates who escaped from Chattooga County’s Hays State Prison in October was captured Thursday night in DeKalb County. Michael Tweedel was apprehended by the Department of Corrections Fugitive Task Force after being tracked down in the Atlanta area in a stolen vehicle. He attempted to run but was caught after a brief struggle. Tweedel had been serving two 10-year sentences for armed robbery in Cobb County. He escaped on Oct. 13 with Johnny Mack Brown, who was in prison serving a life sentence plus 70 years for armed robbery. Read more.
