The former Mormon bishop accused of molesting several teenage boys is no longer an employee with the Utah Department of Corrections. Department of Corrections spokesman Jack Ford says David James Gomez was fired from his post as director of Utah Correctional Industries last Thursday. The 57-year-old was charged last Thursday with three counts of first-degree felony sodomy on a child and three counts of second-degree felony sex abuse of a child. The allegations stem from alleged incidents ten to 13 years ago, when Gomez was bishop of the Hunter Tenth Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. |
