| Final victim of 1984 shooting dies |

By Dave Wahl March 19, 2009 A corrections officer paralyzed in the Orange County courthouse shooting 25 years ago has died of his injuries. On January 10, 1984 Thomas Provenzano walked into the courthouse and opened fire. Deputy Sheriff William "Arnie" Wilkerson was shot and killed, Deputy Sheriff Harry Dalton and Corrections Officer Mark Parker were gravely injured. Deputy Dalton would pass away in 1991 from complications relating to a serious brain injury he received during the shootout, while Parker was left a quadriplegic. Wednesday night, Parker died. "He never, ever complained. And we saw him at the courthouse back on January 10 of this year. Each year we have a ceremony to commemorate that terrible day." Read more.
