Prosecutors drop case against jail cook accused of fondling inmates

A Snohomish County, Wash., jail cook accused of sexual misconduct with inmates will not be charged after all.
County prosecutors said they don't believe there is enough evidence to persuade a jury to find the defendant guilty in the case. The cook's story became public when a number of internal problems at the jail made headlines earlier this year.
Inmates said the defendant, daughter of a jail supervisor, was fondling inmates and offering them sexual favors. But prosecutors, after interviewing witnesses, said conflicting testimony left the case open to too many challenges
