| Guards regain control of prison after riot |

LONDON (Reuters) - Specially-trained prison officers in riot gear regained control of a low-security British prison late Saturday nearly 24 hours after hundreds of inmates rioted and set fire to buildings. The Prison Service said three prisoners were slightly injured but no staff were hurt in the riot at Ashwell prison near Oakham, about 100 miles (160 km) north of London. Smoke rose from fires started in prison buildings during the standoff. Television pictures showed there had been extensive damage, with one building destroyed and smoke damage to others.
