DEER LODGE — Deputy Warden Ted Rothe, murdered during the 1959 Montana State Prison riot, will be remembered during the 50th year commemoration Saturday in Deer Lodge. The public is invited to free programs at the Pen Convention Center telling the story of life in the prison and the riot. "Our focus will be on Deputy Warden Ted Rothe and other victims more than the miscreants," said museum curator KC Sackman, who said members of Rothe's family will be present during the commemoration. Lunch will be available for $6 per plate; however, reservations are required for the reunion dinner for former MSP employees, also $6 per person. Call 846-3111 for reservations. Read more.
