The U.S. criminal justice system has experienced criticism and praise. How do people of faith inform their perspective on capital punishment and corrections? The Rev. Earl Beshears will share his experience as a former warden and open a dialogue on prison reform and capital punishment at 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 21, in St. Peter’s Parish Hall, 211 Mulberry St., Lewes. Beshears is an Episcopal priest and rector of St. Paul’s Church in Georgetown. Before attending seminary, he was assistant director of prison operations in North Carolina. Prior to that he worked in corrections in Maryland, where he served as warden at Eastern Correctional Institution. Beshears will share his experience in corrections and discuss the evolving role of corrections in the criminal justice system.
