| Corrections officer killed in car accident |

VINELAND -- A state corrections officer was killed in a one-car crash on Landis Avenue Saturday morning. Police have identified the victim as 23-year-old Elmer Street resident Roberto D. Gonzalez. Gonzalez was traveling west on Landis Avenue at approximately 6:45 a.m. when he drove his vehicle off the road and struck a tree in front of Landis Intermediate School, police said. Read more.
