(Goffstown, NH) More than one hundred volunteers provide treatment, recreational opportunities, spiritual support, and education to the inmates at the New Hampshire State Prison for Women in Goffstown each year. These individuals will be recognized at the annual Volunteer Appreciation Celebration on Thursday, April 23, 2009.

The celebration will include remarks from inmates who have benefited from volunteers. A certificate of appreciation will be awarded to a Volunteer of the Year.

Warden Joanne Fortier said, “This is an opportunity for the women to thank those who have helped them better prepare for release.”

Nearly one thousand people volunteer their time at all New Hampshire Department of Corrections facilities.
