Two more people are charged with helping smuggle contraband into the Utah State Prison for bribes. Anna Anderson was charged last Thursday with two counts each of providing contraband and bribery of a public servant. The 33-year-old is accused of giving prison correctional officer Larry Van Cox about five-thousand dollars to smuggle tobacco, a cell phone, a portable D-V-D player and a printer in which a gun was hidden into the Point of the Mountain prison. Prisoner Jeffrey Roberts was also charged last Thursday accused of helping other inmates deliver the gun once it was brought into the prison. Cox was arrested in March and faces charges of receiving bribes, money laundering and providing contraband to a person in custody. Authorities do not believe Cox or Anderson knew the gun was inside the printer. |
