Alleged 'Craigslist killer' placed on suicide watch By Donovan Slack, Globe Staff Philip Markoff, the alleged "Craigslist killer," has been placed on suicide watch at the Suffolk County jail in Boston after a correction officer saw marks on his neck that suggested he had tried to use shoelaces to hang himself, a law enforcement source said today. Markoff was checked out by medical staff at the jail and has now been placed in a special cell with a camera in it so he can be monitored 24 hours a day, the official said. Markoff, 23, a Boston University medical student, is accused of robbing one woman who advertised erotic services through Craigslist and killing another one who fought for her life, 25-year-old Julissa Brisman of New York.
