| New plan seeks to cut recidivism |

By Jim Hilgen Newark, DE - A new plan looks to help inmates succeed and cut down repeat offenses Governor Jack Markell is unveiling a plan [TODAY] that he expects will address recidivism in the state. The governor will be joined by the corrections commissioner, and the secretaries of education and labor among others, when he announces the initiative. The plan will have state agencies working together with inmates, prior to their release, to tackle issues like finding jobs, securing housing and combating drug and alcohol addictions. The initiative will be outlined at the Northern New Castle County Adult Probation and Parole Office in Newark. Read more.
