| Rehberg sticks up for Hardin jail |

By MATT GOURAS Associated Press Writer HELENA, Mont. (AP) U.S. Rep. Denny Rehberg is sticking up for the brand new and vacant Hardin jail. He says the governor should consider it as a long-term solution for state prison needs. A Corrections Department advisory committee is putting together a different recommendation for Gov. Brian Schweitzer. It says a new 900-bed prison in Billings may be needed 10 or more years down the road to deal with projected inmate population growth. Read more.
