Deputy faces charges in inmate Taser gun death |

A judge decided Wednesday to file charges against one of two deputies following a fatal taser gun incident at the Monroe County (Ind.) jail. James L. Borden died in November of last year while in custody after receiving multiple shocks from jail officers in Bloomington. At a hearing today the judge charged Deputy David Shaw with battery while armed with a deadly weapon and battery causing serious bodily injury. Both are Class C felonies. Deputy Shaw is expected to turn himself in sometime this evening. The judge didn't file any charges against other deputy under investigation, Christopher Hutton. |
